Villa Strassburger

PCUNOR014FS00073

Description

In the prestigious resort of Deauville, the Villa Strassburger is a truly typical example of a Belle Epoque holiday home.

The villa was built for Baron Henri de Rothschild on the site of the Ferme du Coteau, a farm belonging to Gustave Flaubert's family.
As a horse racing enthusiast, the Baron preferred a site close to the racecourse rather than the sea.
In 1924, the villa was bought by Ralph Strassburger before becoming the property of the Town of Deauville in 1980.
The villa offers a number of typically Norman features: half-timbering, finials, apple trees in the park... An impressive Anglo-Norman villa with striking exterior dimensions. You can visit the villa's interior during summer tours organised by the Deauville town council.
