Cap Romain is a protected site of geological interest, located on the seafront of the towns of Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer and Bernières-sur-Mer, presenting a host of fossils of huge geological interest.
This is a very rare example of a deposit from the Jurassic period. The removal of fossils is prohibited. Fossils and archaeological objects can now be viewed at the Maison des Curiosités in Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer, while guided tours are organised by the Calvados Department, responsible for the reserve's management.
