The Museum of Art and History in Lisieux is located in one of the town's last-remaining half-timbered houses.
A certified "Musée de France", it reopened its doors in 2013 to offer a brand new scenographic display.
The museum offers a chronological journey through the history of Lisieux, from the town's origins to the present day: from the Gallo-Roman to the medieval and classical city, via its textile industry, illustrious figures, reconstruction...
Two specific themes are also covered: the Bishops of Lisieux and typical local inhabitations.
The town's fascinating history is portrayed via over 300 objects, paintings, photographs...
