The Château de Saint-Germain-de-Livet is the jewel of the Pays d'Auge. The architecture of this superb castle, surrounded by a moat, is representative of local architecture in the 15th and 16th centuries. Timber frames and glazed bricks come together in perfect harmony. For many years, the castle has been the property of the Riesener-Valland family. Though the interior is currently closed to the public, the park, orchard and internal courtyard are accessible for guided tours. While you wait for your guided tour, or afterwards, head to the delicious 'Aux 3 Gourmands du Château' crêperie: a delicious crêperie and tea room located just beside the castle, with stunning views over this gem.
