Description
The Mézidon-Canon gardens, located between Caen and Lisieux, are quite remarkable. Their walled "chartreuse" gardens are unique in France. One of Calvados' finest jewels.
Located in Normandy, the gardens of the Château de Canon bear fine witness to the Age of Enlightenment. Their composition is the same as it has always been since the mid 18th century.

Not to be missed: the chartreuses, genuine open-air greenhouses. These 13 walled gardens once bore excellent fruit. The statue of Pomona, the goddess of fruitful abundance, still stands proud. Today, the chartreuses are home to perennial plants.
The Château de Canon and its surrounding estate offer a splendid ensemble in the heart of the Normandy countryside.
