The striking vestiges of a medieval fortress, in the heart of the picturesque Suisse Normande area
Built between the 10th and 13th centuries, beautiful remains of the fortress of the Counts of Ganne – Lords of Pommeraye – can still be seen today: a majestic tower entrance, a chapel, a bakehouse and a fine residential building. The site is accessible during various cultural events: 'Pierres en Lumières', 'Les Médiévales de Château Ganne' and the 'Heritage Days'. The Château Ganne also forms part of Calvados' Sensitive Natural Spaces (ENS), protected for their ecological and landscape value.
