The Church of St. Peter in Caen is one of Normandy's finest examples of Gothic architecture.
Built from the 13th to the 16th centuries, the Church of St. Peter boasts an array of architectural styles: from Rayonnant and Flamboyant Gothic to Renaissance.
Its magnificent 14th century spire is 80 metres in height.
Not to be missed, on your next visit to Caen: the choir vault, the carved capitals on the 3rd nave pillar, on the north side, presenting four scenes inspired by medieval novels on knighthood and satirical writings, and the Flamboyant Gothic ambulatory chapels.
The organ, by J.F. Dupont, was built in 1997.
