Housed within one of the remaining half-timbered houses in Lisieux, the Museum of Art and History, a certified ‘Musée de France’ (Museum of France), presents the town’s history and representations, from early history (Gallo-Roman wall paintings, exceptional Merovingian glassware) to the present day, not forgetting key period’s in the town’s development (the Bishop-counts, 19th-century textile industry, post-war reconstruction).
Theme contents are adapted to suit each school level. Tour of one or several museum areas (around 1 hour) and experimentation / artistic creation associated with the tour, in the educational room (around 1 hour).
Our public department can help you to devise your class projects. Presentations of the collection and educational projects are organised by appointment. Entry to the Museum of Art and History is free of charge for teachers, both for permanent and temporary collections. Personalised project accompaniment can be organised.
