The maritime port in Ouistreham stretches along the canal that links Caen with the sea. Since the early 1960s, this essentially commercial port has been developed to include an area devoted to pleasure boating, to the east of the canal, with a total capacity of over six hundred boats.
A range of services can be accessed on site by pleasure boaters, who can then take advantage of the nearby road links to visit the area around the Côte de Nacre coast, equally renowned for its beaches, casinos and fauna. The port lock, located in the vicinity of the master's office, is modern and relatively quick and easy to pass. Over and above the many cultural activities and entertainment on offer in Ouistreham, a short trip to Caen also offers visitors an insight into the eventful history of Normandy's capital. You can also simply relax and enjoy the environment, or indulge in some fishing by the harbour!
