La Vélogirouette eco-lodge

La Vélogirouette, an eco-friendly self-catering holiday rental between Caen and Suisse Normande.

This traditional regional house has been renovated and extended with biosourced materials, while heating and hot water production are ensured with renewable energy. Rainwater recovery has been implemented to supply the toilets and outdoor plant watering. You'll appreciate the interior comfort offered with its bright lounge, luxury organic-cotton bedding and washed linen sheets.  This is an independent, three-storey house. The ground floor includes a kitchen/dining room, a lounge with wood fire, an entrance with toilet room, a room with two joinable twin beds, shower room and toilet. The first floor features two bedrooms with private shower room and toilet (one room with a double bed and one room with a double bed and a single bed). The second floor, in the attic, is made up of a large room with double bed, separate shower room and toilet, connecting to a room with three single beds. There is also a laundry room with washing machine and tumble-dryer, and a bike workshop/garage. From here, you can set off across the region on foot or by bike. The Vélofrancette cycle route is located with 660 m away, with secure access. The lodge has been awarded the 'Accueil Vélo' cycle-friendly label and therefore offers cyclotourists all the necessary equipment and services adapted to their stay!
