Exposition : "Architecture(s)"

FMANOR014V54NHE3

Description

Now boasting some 7,000 works of art, each year the Musée des Franciscaines presents a selection of its collections for free access, through its Universes: Art de vivre, Cheval, Spectacle and Deauville.
Thanks to the acquisition policy of the town of Deauville, the Peindre en Normandie fund and the generosity of major donors, the Franciscaines? collections now include works by major artists such as Boudin, Courbet, Dufy, Géricault, Monet, Renoir and Signac, as well as a photographic collection of 1,700 prints featuring both great names from the history of photography and contemporary creations as part of the Planches Contact festival.
For this new architectural theme, a selection of paintings, drawings, prints and photographs will be set against the media library's thematic universes:
- Deauville universe: the town's unique heritage, with its emblematic Norman architecture, notably its villas.
- Horse universe: racecourses and equestrian facilities.
- Entertainment: the casinos, the Bains de Mer, and above all the famous Planches, whose 100th anniversary we're celebrating this year with a wink to "ils ont foulé les Planches" ("they trod the boards").
- Lifestyle universe: the legendary Deauville swimming pool designed by Roger Taillibert in 1965.
