Flax growers for several generations, Mathilde and Benoît welcome you to the Saint-Vaast farm to share their passion for growing flax, with a guided tour of their farm.
Depending on the season, you'll discover the many facets of flax and its 7 crops. You'll be able to contemplate stretches of small blue flowers or green thumbs as far as the eye can see, smell the aromas of flax fiber, touch the material at its various stages of transformation from seed to fabric. Mathilde will also introduce you to the history of linen, its cultivation and transformation, and surprise you with the astonishing technical applications of this little-known fiber.
After watching two films, you'll be taken on a tour of the farm and its constantly-evolving farming equipment.
At the end of the tour, you'll understand why Normandy is the world's leading producer of fibre flax.
A boutique area is also available, where you can stock up on products made from this ecological and sustainable material (bed and table linen, home decor, bags, jewelry, baby items, clothing, seeds, etc.).
