Visite libre de l'Abbaye aux Hommes

Dominated by the Saint-Etienne abbey church, a jewel of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, housing the tomb of its illustrious founder, the Abbaye aux Hommes is a central place in the history and life of the people of Caen.

Accessible rooms: the cloister, the chauffoir, the scriptorium, the grand staircase and the portery. The chauffoir and the porterie host permanent exhibition spaces included in the self-guided tour. The scriptorium regularly hosts temporary exhibitions, which you can also discover during your visit.
