Make the most of this quiet and preserved beach near picturesque Honfleur.
Pennedepie beach is an untamed sandy beach near Honfleur. It does not have a lifeguard station and is therefore not under surveillance, even in the high season. The particularity of this beach is that it can only be accessed at low tide - for at high tide, it literally disappears.
The Maison de l’Estuaire visitor centre organises regular outings on this beach so feel free to enquire at +33(0)2 35 24 80 00.
You can reach the beach from the centre of Pennedepie via two routes. The first, on Rue de la Mer, is only accessible to residents and parking can prove very difficult (pedestrian access only). A second solution consists in heading for Cricquebœuf, 800 metres after the Rue de la Mer - easily recognisable thanks to the maximum headroom barrier.
You can make the most of your stay in this Calvados village to visit the Bois du Breuil woods, a sensitive natural area.
