Western France's last iron-ore mine, the Carreau du Livet offers a display of wheeled and rail machinery raised from the depths, together with miners' equipment and tools.
Discover the locker room (or "Hangman's Room"), showers, lamproom and the inclined gallery that took miners 650 metres underground. A scenographic display: 'Les mondes souterrains du Calvados' (Calvados' underground worlds) offers a journey into the bowels of the earth. Geological resources presented in a funfull and educational manner, including a virtual trip down the mine. 15 minute film. Free access to equipment display outside.
