Located in the vicinity of Pointe du Hoc, the German artillery battery in Maisy was an important feature in the German defensive line during the D-Day Landings.
During the Allied landings in Normandy, the battery opened fire on troops as they landed on Utah and Omaha beaches. The final assault on the 9th of June 1944 lasted 5 long hours...
Today, you can visit around 2 miles of trenches, tunnels, six 155mm gun emplacements and other underground constructions.
