Description

The gardens of the Château de Boutemont, to the north of Lisieux, are among the most beautiful in Calvados.

The gardens of the Château de Boutemont, in Ouilly-le-Vicomte in the heart of Calvados, is a certified "jardin remarquable" (remarkable garden). Designed in the 20th century by the landscape architect Achille Duchêne, the Château de Boutemont's estate has changed over the decades. The 16th century castle is now surrounded by several gardens. An Italian garden, a small fragrant garden and many other creations have come to complete the original formal garden. The greenhouse has been renovated and is still used today. Grand siècle period garden furniture, together with sculptures and pottery from Tuscany adorn this magnificently verdant estate. A 2-hour stroll over which the owners and their gardeners are delighted to share their passion. One of Normandy's finest gardens, simply not to be missed.
