Ever dreamt of a breath of fresh country air, over a weekend or longer break - a moment’s indulgent respite by the fireside, a taste of fresh oysters in the spring, a jacuzzi under the starry sky or in the snow…

Then La Vie de Cogagne is your perfect destination!

Your private home for the weekend or a longer holiday, just 15 minutes from Deauville; far from the hustle and bustle of the town, and offering a maximum capacity of 4 adults and 2 children.

Rent this discreetly luxurious house, designed like a private holiday home, for a weekend, a week or two… however long your stay, you’re sure to feel at home here!

Against the current of those distant, idyllic islands, here, at La Vie de Cocagne, the gentle art of living, Normandy style, is yours to indulge in all year long, whatever the season, from coast to country.

La Vie de Cocagne is also a song by Jeanne Moreau, in which she shares her dream to leave the Parisian capital over a weekend, to head for a tiny corner of nature where the joys of country living await her, all year long.
And as we listened to the lyrics, we realised how perfectly they portray our own frame of mind and the values we are keen to share with our guests.

The Cathedral lounge.
Bright and overlooking the garden, the patios, jacuzzi, and surrounding meadows - Basilic and Chocolat, our father and son donkeys’ playground.

The lounge in our charming rental offers two light brown sofas and three Napoleon III armchairs, a wood stove, a large flat-screen TV with around 350 national and international satellite channels, a DVD library, a Bose iPod/iPhone station and free Wi-Fi.

The Dining room
Our charming and discreetly luxurious holiday home offers an open-plan kitchen-lounge-dining room overlooking the patio.
Dining capacity is for six comfortably seated guests.
A cot can be provided on request.

The kitchen
In the fully-fitted and equipped kitchen, you will find: two slate worktops, stainless steel electrical appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave oven, washing machine, ceramic hob, extractor fan, filter and Nespresso coffee machines, toaster, kettle and mixer), together with a complete set of pots and pans.

The guest rooms
Our holiday home offers three guest rooms: two on the ground floor with private shower rooms, one on the upper floor for children or visitors with WC and washbasin (no bathroom).

To the east, the ‘Chocolate’ room

The Chocolat bedroom offers quality queen-size bedding, a large padded headboard, gilded porcelain wall lights, a whitewashed craft chest of drawers, a wardrobe, old engravings from Marrakesh, a small Louis XVI stool, light brown canvas curtains, and rattan carpeting.

The room also boasts its own private shower room with Italian slate shower - towels, bath robes and slippers provided. Hospitality shower gel and shampoo.

Marvel at the views over the meadow, an area specially reserved for our donkeys, Basilic and Chocolat.

To the west, the ‘Green’ room

The green room offers quality queen-size bedding, a large mirror headboard, sanded white porcelain wall lights, a small Louis XVI stool, a wardrobe, old religious portraits, a 19th century prie-dieu chair, taffeta curtains, and rattan carpeting.

The private shower room is equipped with an Italian slate shower - towels, bath robes and slippers are provided. Hospitality shower gel and shampoo.

The room offers views over the high grass garden.

On the upper floor, the ‘Red’ room

The red room offers two 90cm single beds with Louis XVI headboards that can be joined to form a king-size double bed, Sarah Lavoine table lamps, 19th century portraits of children, stools, a 19th century music chest, bedside drawers, and rattan carpeting.

The room has its own private WC and washbasin.

This rooftop bedroom is perfectly isolated from the cathedral lounge.

It offers fine views over the lime tree alley.

Sheets, towels and bath robes are provided.
Cot and baby bath can be provided on request.

The garden
The holiday home benefits from a private south-west facing garden.
It has been arranged in the spirit of a monastic garden with a medley of white flowers, boxwood and high grasses… it offers unrestricted views over the meadow and surrounding countryside, in a calm setting, free from any noise or visual pollution.

Two patios are at your disposal: one timber patio with Softub jacuzzi, teck table and two chairs, the other gravelled, with 4 loungers, a table to seat 6/8, so you can enjoy lunch or dinner outdoors.

A barbecue and Weber patio chimney, parasols and lounger cushions are also available in the summer.

The private car park
The private parking area is accessible via a secure electric gate with automatic lighting and remote control opening.

La Vie de Cocagne is surrounded by stud farms. The village of Bonnebosq, located on the Cider Route, is just a 2-minute drive or a 10-minute walk away. It offers all the necessary commodities for the perfect stay (butcher, delicatessen, newsagent, chemist, florist, antique store, etc.).

In the vicinity of our charming and typically Norman-style holiday home, you will find hollow paths and half-timbered manors, orchards and stud farms, together with the charming villages of Beaumont-en-Auge, Cambremer and Beuvron-en-Auge.

Over your weekend or longer holiday in Normandy, delve into this genuine land of plenty, home to some of France’s finest cheeses (pont l’évêque, camembert and livarot), cider, calvados, fresh cream and seafood.

You can visit the Côte Fleurie coast, located just a few kilometres from the rental: Deauville and its famous boardwalk, Honfleur and its old harbour, Trouville and its reputed fish market… three towns that epitomise Normandy, and offer a vast choice of stores, restaurants, markets, sports and cultural activities.
