On the banks of the Orne estuary, come and discover the Gros Banc ornithological reserve over your next trip to Normandy.
Property of the Coastal Conservancy and the Calvados Council, the Orne estuary covers 350 hectares of preserved nature.
The Gros Banc ornithological reserve can be reached from Sallenelles or Merville-Franceville and 50 hectares have been specifically developed to ensure the protection of seabirds.

Unaccompanied or guided tours (from April to October) following a programme developed by the Maison de la Nature et de l'Estuaire (Nature and Estuary Centre) in Sallenelles.
Binoculars are available on hire from the Maison de la Nature et de l'Estuaire in Sallenelles.
L'estuaire de l'Orne est un Espace Naturel Sensible (ENS) géré par le Conseil Départemental du Calvados. Le site est réouvert au public depuis le 13 mai 2020.
