Deauville beach is located in an area referred to locally as ‘les lais de mer’ (sea alluvion), between the sea and Boulevard Cornuché.
It has become the perfect playground for anyone who likes to indulge in water sports, beach games, sea bathing and, of course, children who love building sand castles. Dogs are allowed to come for a run at certain times of the day: Dogs are not permitted on the beach from 10am to 7pm from 15th March to 15th November. At other periods, they are tolerated at low tide at a distance of 100 metres from the promenade and the boardwalk. The beach is under lifeguard surveillance from 28th April to 31st May on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and holiday weekends from 11am to 6pm - and from 1st to 30th June on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and holiday weekends from 11am to 6pm. An on call service (flag not raised) from Monday to Friday from 11am to 6pm and on a continuous basis from 1st July to 2nd September from 11am to 7pm. Should you encounter a problem, please call: +33(2).22.214.171.124. The bathing zone covers a length of 550m and a width of 300m. In July and August, eight BNSSA-qualified lifeguards (national aquatic rescue certificate) and three CRS police officers patrol the bathing zone and the beach. Landmarks on the beach are there to help children. Large masts topped with a boat, a house, a train or a ball are planted on the beach in the high season to help them find their way. They can often prove very practical! So, off you go and head for Deauville beach, to make the most of the joys of the sand and the sea in this famous resort!
