The Orne Valley CPIE (Environmental Initiatives Centre) is an association specialising in education in the environment, sustainable development and the valorisation of territories and heritage.
Created in 1984, the ‘L’Aulne Vert association was certified as the Orne Valley CPIE (Environmental Initiatives Centre) in 1987. The Orne Valley CPIE is a local association and a member of a regional and national network targeting: local inhabitants, elected representatives, scholars, associations, public authorities, businesses, etc. to enable them to act in favour of sustainable development throughout their area, by providing expertise for decision-makers, by creating original and fun learning tools, by pooling a variety of skills and by federating around participative projects. The CPIE intervenes from the coast to the Suisse Normande area, via Caen and its conurbation, to implement, accompany and promote local environmental initiatives. For its educational activities, the CPIE benefits from support from the Caen City Council and the Calvados Council.
