Enjoy the pleasures of a fine sandy beach, in the heart of the seaside resort of Courseulles-sur-Mer.
You can try your hand at the joys of the sea and sand on this monitored beach in the summertime, or take a walk along the dike and enjoy the activities on offer in this seaside resort on the Côte de Nacre and its shops.
If you'd like to enjoy your own beach cabin, from 15 June to 30 September, all you need to do is get in touch with the town hall's activities office at 02 31 36 17.
Access for persons with disabilities: Tiralo floating wheelchair available at the lifeguard station only during lifeguard-surveillance periods. A carpet is available for beach access.
Sanitary facilities: Showers: Two shower areas, one changing room on the landing esplanade, under the Crémaillére terrace and one shower/toilet stall in the marinas. Toilets: open during the beach-surveillance period in July and August at the lifeguard station.
Four-legged friends:
- dogs: Dogs can walk leashed from the Cap Fun Campsite to the Cale du Platon in Bernières-sur-Mer all year round. From 15 June to 15 September, dogs are only permitted, on a leash, at low tide before 11:30 and after 18:30 in the eastern area (from the pier to the Marinas rip-rap), and in the western area (from the outer-harbour exit channel rip-rap to the Graye-sur-Mer boundary). Leashed dogs are permitted on the dike. Remember to take a poop bag; the Courseulles-sur-Mer Tourist Office provides these free of charge.
- Horses: Horses are allowed to travel outside of bathing areas at low tide.
Bikes: Bikes are prohibited on the dike. However, the Vélomaritime cycle route can be found just a stone's throw from the beach, running along Avenue de la Combattante and on the seafront from the Cap Fun campsite to L'Edit park. From there, you can make your way on two wheels to Bernières-sur-Mer. Courseulles-sur-Mer is located on the Vélomaritime cycle route. This 1,500 km cycle route from Roscoff to Dunkirk crosses such legendary sites as the D-Day Landing Beaches, Mont-Saint-Michel and the cliffs of Etretat.
