For the past 35 years, fishing is a family affair for the Dauberts.
Once upon a time, back in 1985, Marc, the father and one of Courseulles’ best-known inhabitants, bought his first boat. His son, Jean-Marc, took over in 2013, aboard the Stenaca II, then L’Espérance, a 15-metre fishing boat. Stéphanie, his daughter, opened a fishmonger’s store in 2011. And you can meet their mum, Isabelle, every day at the Courseulles fish market! Isabelle and her team offer a vast choice of fish and seafood, straight from their two fishing boats. The fish caught here are mainly sole, sea bream, plaice, mullet, mackerel, seabass, etc. And of course, when in season, scallops are the flagship of their fish and seafood stalls. Follow Jean-Marc’s tip for preparing delicious scallops - simply seared and served with leek fondue.
