The gardens of the Château de Boutemont, to the north of Lisieux, are among the most beautiful in Calvados.
The grounds of the Château de Boutemont have changed over the centuries. First of all, you can climb up the castle mound dating back to the time of William the Conqueror and admire the fine panoramic views over the Pays d’Auge. The magnificent 16th-century castle is best discovered over a tour of its gardens: topiaries, Italian garden, white garden, purple garden, zen garden, ginkgo garden, love garden, meadows, etc. As of the May weekends, L’Orangerie is home to a pancake house / tearoom. Open to visitors inside: neo-Gothic lounge and lodge, chapel.
