Bateaux de Normandie is an association that strives to preserve Normandy’s maritime heritage and opens its doors to the public.
On the canal linking Caen with the sea, a unique site located in Caen/Mondeville welcomes you to unveil the life of bygone mariners, their boats, their tools, and simply their daily lives. A modern outlook on a site where small-scale boats rub shoulders with those that still take to the sea, together with an insight into old navigation tools, books on the sea and much more - a truly original experience, in Calvados.
Come and discover Normandy’s maritime heritage and feel free to mingle with the volunteers who are always delighted to welcome you and show you how they work on dory boats and other small vessels.
