From May to October, over 600 “Nature Escapades“ are organised to offer you an original insight into Mother nature’s hidden treasures.
The Black Cow Cliffs are located between Houlgate and Villers-sur-Mer. Their name comes from a sailors’ song. When seen from the sea, these these huge algae-covered blocks of chalk on the beach are said to ressemble a herd of cows grazing at the foot of the cliff.
This emblematic Suisse Normande site is well known for its rocky escarpments and can be visited from below, along the banks of the Orne, or from above, along the pathway that overlooks the cliff.
