Gina Calinoiu, Romanian actress coming from the company of the Marin Sorescu National Theatre of Craiova, is now a member of the company of the National Theatre of Dresden, Germany. Lionel González is an actor and director. They met during a workshop held by Russian master Anatoli Vassiliev and decided to found together Le Balagan’ retrouvé.
They already performed two shows inspired from Dostoievski in the previous edition of the Festival (Demain tout sera fini and La Nuit sera blanche). This year, they are back with their latest creation: The illiterates.
The artists drew their inspiration from the setting of Scenes from a Marriage, a film shot in 1973 by Swedish film director Ingmar Bergman. They invited a musician to the show: Thibault Perriard, a drummer who already performed for the theatre and worked with Samuel Achache and Jeanne Candel. Three actors for a show which is orally and corporally written "every evening".
