The underground shelter of the Strassburger Villa, long-time close to the public, is perfectly preserved. This underground area, situated on the back of the Villa, is made of a 45-m-long U-shaped corridor, leading to a command post and linked to Berlin by telephone. The armoured doors, initially used for submarines, come from the Cherbourg Dockyard. Corridors and command parts still carry inscriptions and safety instructions on the walls.
A visit organized by the Amicale philatélique et cartophilique de Deauville / Trouville-sur-Mer.
