The Calouste Gulbenkian Park, situated next to the Mont-Canisy batteries, on the Domaine de Enclos, is 34-ha large and had to face 6 years of war. This Park, to which Calouste Gulbenkian, the founder, dedicated much attention, was restored from 1947 on.
Lionel Duhaut and Philippe Normand, respectively archivist and responsible for the Cultural Service of the City of Deauville, will focus on the history of the Domaine des Enclos – dating to the 17th century -, the purchase, renovation and creation of a remarkable garden by Calouste Gulbenkian, art collector and aesthete, and Achille Duchêne, landscaper. They could count on the suggestions of Saint-John Perse, poet and diplomat.
