The nobility of flax fiber has lasted for thousands of years. Normandy is the world's leading region for the production of long-fibre linen, with more than 50% of the total harvest. It grows the most sought-after linens in the world. With multiple properties (hypoallergenic, antibacterial, thermoregulatory, resistant and easy to care for), this fabric, with its timeless minimalist elegance, is now part of our wardrobes and interiors.
The exhibition "Couleur lin, couleur nature", which is part of the promotion of linen as a medium of expression and creation, initiated by Création Culture en Pays d'Auge with the support of the City of Touques, reveals for its 14th edition in the privileged setting of the Saint-Pierre church, the varied universes of creators inspired by this natural and authentic material.
French and mostly local craftsmanship, new collections in a wide range of colors and a range of selected quality linens (washed, embroidered, painted...): clothing, bags, jewelry, textile and decorative objects for the home, painting on linen..
Linen, a material that never ceases to amaze us.
An annual appointment with the creators not to be missed.
