The Deauville Barrière Meeting is launched with the Prix Rothschild. The Prix Rothschild is one of the key moments of this race month in Deauville. It is a Group 1 excellence contest reserved to mares aged 3 and over. It is a 1600-m race known as Mile, with emphasis on speed. This straight-line race is a spectacular race for the public as the pack runs at more than 60 km/h on the curb, a few centimetres away from the public! The Deauville – La Touques racecourse is renowned for the many straight-line races organized here.
