Third edition of the Qatar Prix Jean Prat previously held in Chantilly.

The Norman racecourse has hosted since 2018 one more race: it’s actually a Group 1 race, the excellence in the equestrian world. Nowadays, 8 Group 1 races (6 English and 2 Arabian thoroughbred horse races) are organized in Deauville.

For the Qatar Prix Jean Prat, 3-year-old male and female horses challenge on a 1,600-m straight-line race. The 2019 edition was won by Too Darn Hot ridden by Frankie Dettori and trained by John Gosden (photo).

During this race, the public gets a first taste of the Deauville Barrière Meeting, held this year from Thursday, July 30th to Sunday, August 30th.

Indeed, the horses gaining fame during the Qatar Prix Jean Prat also participate to the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard - Jacques Le Marois, the contest with the highest prize at stake (€ 1 million) of the Deauville Barrière Meeting, held on Sunday, August 16th on the same distance and on straight line.

Deauville-La Touques, whose yearly schedule covers seven months, is considered the most important flat racecourse in France and fully participates to the economy and the special atmosphere of the city.

This racecourse, an emblematic showcase of thoroughbred horses, attracts international clients, fascinated by the prestige of Group 1 races, but also by the high-level selection proposed by the famous yearling sales organized by Arqana.
