Walk along the beach from Villers-sur-mer to Houlgate (6 km) and discover a unique place on the French coast: the Vaches Noires cliffs. Experience an unusual journey, discover geological findings and assist to an initiation lesson about fossil collecting.
The palaeontological site of the Vaches Noires cliffs is rich in fossil bones dating back to the Jurassic era. Formed by the accumulation of sediments left by the tropical sea which covered Normandy at the time, this site reveals fossils of ammonites, sea urchins, nautilus, plesiosaurs, ichthyosaurs and so on.
To come back to Villers-sur-mer from Houlgate: take a bus (Bus Verts, line 20) or the TER including several stops between Dives/Cabourg and Deauville/Trouville.
*Please note that the price of the bus or train ticket is not included in the price of the trip.
