The Avanesyan Trio, founded in 2010, gathers brothers Hrachya and Sevak Avanesyan, and Lily Maiski. These three musicians have already played in renowned halls like Wigmore Hall of London, Casa da Musica in Lisbonne and Théâtre de la Ville in Paris. The Avanesyan Trio, rooted in Russian tradition and Western culture, plays both renowned and unknown masterpieces, focusing in particular on Armenian chamber music.

Hrachya Avanesyan is considered as one of the most inspiring artists of his generation. In April 2006, when he still was a teenager, he won the first prize at the Yehudi Menuhin Competition. In 2008 his talent conquered the musical world when he won the prestigious Carl Nielsen Competition in Denmark.
Born in Armenia in 1986, Hrachya Avanesyan moved to Belgium with his family at the age of 16 and is now settled there. From 2003 to 2008, he studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in the class of Igor Oistrakh, son and pupil of legendary David Oistrakh. Since 2007, he has studied at the Queen Elisabeth College of Music in Belgium with Augustin Dumay.
