Junhee Kim, South-Korean pianist born in 1990, started playing the piano at the age of 5. He received several international prizes and awards and started to perform in front of a public at the age of 14 with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Seoul.

He entered the international spotlight by winning the 2nd Great Prize and 3 Special Prizes at the age of 17 at the Concours International Long-Thibaud in 2007. “He plays with extreme concentration. He is only 17, but already plays as a professional musician,” said Aldo Ciccolini, president of the jury.

He received several international prizes and awards in the latest years, including the 1st Prize at the International Contest of Vladimir Horowitz (Kiev 2017), the 1st Prize at the International Piano Contest of Massarosa (Italy, 2013) and the 1st Prize at the Young Concert Artists European Auditions (Leipzig 2015).

Kun Woo Paik said that he is a brilliant and genuine pianist, one of the extraordinary talents of the young generation of Korean pianists.

He will publish his 1st album including Russian masterpieces by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Kapustin, Shchedrin/Pletnev in 2020 with label HORTUS.
